Billy Owens, Inc. has been serving the North Florida area since 1979. We offer a variety of residential and commercial services to meet virtually any contracting need. Billy Owens, Inc. has been recognized for a strong commitment to quality service by being nominated for a small business award by the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and receiving the award for Outstanding Builder Member of the Year (2001-2002) from the Tallahassee Builders Association. Billy Owens, Inc. has also been featured numerous times in the Tallahassee Democrat Homes Section (12/29/96, 2/4/01, 3/18/01, 10/12/03) and in SE Homebuilder & Remodelor magazine (January 1992).

Billy Owens, President / Owner

Billy is a Tallahassee native, graduating from Leon High in 1965. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve from 1967 - 1974. Billy began working in the construction industry in 1967 with his father, Bill Owens, who was a Builder / Developer from the 1950’s - 1980’s. Billy received his General Contractor license in 1974 and he and his wife, Lynda, started the business in 1979 as a sole proprietorship. Billy received his roofing contractor license in 1982, and the business was incorporated in 1985.

Billy is a member and past-president (1999) of the Tallahassee 100 Club Business Organization, and has served as the Chairman of the Remodelor's Council in 2001 and 2002. Billy is also a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club and Tallahassee Bass Anglers.

Rick Buchanan, Superintendent
With Billy Owens, Inc. since July of 1989

Rick received his BS degree in Geology / Geography from FSU in 1974. His experience includes Research Cartographer with Florida Resources and Environmental Analysis Center and Superintendent with Mad Dog Design and Construction. Rick has also completed courses in Advanced Construction Technology and Materials & Techniques.

Rick is married to Michele and they have one son, Bryce.

Amy Hawkins, Office Manager
With Billy Owens, Inc. since February of 2001

Amy is a Tallahassee native who graduated from Leon High in 1990 and received her AA from Tallahassee Community College in 1995.

Amy is married to James and they have one son, Owen.

Lynda Owens, Secretary / Treasurer
With Billy Owens, Inc. since 1979

Lynda graduated from Jasper High School in 1965 and received her AA from North Florida Junior College in 1967. She married Billy in 1969 and in 1979 they started the business known today as Billy Owens, Inc. She was the Office Manager from 1979 - 2002.

Lynda is a charter member of the Capital City Optimist Club.

Lynda and Billy have two children, Amy Hawkins and Angela Owens.
